FPC is what we often call flexible board, which is also called flexible circuit board. It is made of polyimide or polyester film and other circular substrates. It is light and thin, has high density, high flexibility, and can be bent and folded. It has advantages that other types of circuit boards do not have. Compared with traditional interconnection technology, FPC flexible circuit board can withstand millions of times of bending, easy installation, good heat dissipation, and is favored by the market.
From the industry development report in recent years, it can be seen that the new energy vehicle industry has attracted global attention. As a new thing with great reputation, its safety has attracted much attention. The accident of Lin Zhiying in July has even pushed the safety of new energy vehicles to the forefront of the world. What is the way to improve the safety of the battery pack as its core component?
The battery pack FPC flexible circuit board solution can effectively solve this problem. Compared with the traditional harness, FPC has many advantages, such as high integration, automatic assembly, assembly accuracy, ultra-thin thickness, ultra-soft, lightweight and so on. It has obvious advantages in safety, lightweight, process flexibility, automatic production and other aspects, and is especially suitable for the application of products with complex lines, high signal processing requirements and special electrical or mechanical performance requirements.
Main features of FPC solution used in power battery pack:
1. Safe and reliable
FPC flexible circuit board has good electrical insulation and chemical corrosion resistance to ensure safe operation of the line. While replacing the weak current conductor, FPC connects the busbar with metal sheet, and adds the fuse protection current design to ensure the high-speed transmission path of information, so as to ensure that even if there is a short circuit problem in the power battery pack, the internal design of FPC will directly fuse the line copper wire to avoid burning or explosion of other parts of the battery pack.
2. Lightweight
The FPC acquisition board makes use of the characteristics of the flexible circuit board, which greatly improves the space utilization of the battery pack. Compared with traditional harness and PCB products, FPC takes up less space in battery protection and has lighter overall weight.
3. High temperature resistance
The power battery may produce high temperature in the working and driving environment, which endangers the safety of the circuit. The FPC acquisition board is made of polyimide with a relative density of 1.39~1.45, which has high temperature resistance and can work normally at - 40 ℃~260 ℃.
4. Process flexibility
Compared with the traditional wire harness with multiple connection points and complex manual connection links, FPC breaks through the limitations of process selection, and the product can be used for ultrasonic, welding and other multiple process selection according to the characteristics of the battery pack.
5. Automatic production
The FPC has a regular shape and the corresponding modules are integrated, which can save a lot of wiring and connection work, reduce manual operation, shorten working hours and reduce production costs through automatic production.
For FPC with soft material, light texture and extremely light and thin configuration, the application requirements of glue are very high. At the connection between the FPC and the shell, it is necessary to use adhesive for reinforcement and fixation, and often use UV adhesive to avoid long-term vibration during the operation of the vehicle, resulting in the disconnection of the solder joint.
At present, the application of FPC covers light, display module, three power control systems (BMS, VCU, MCU), sensors, advanced auxiliary systems and other relevant scenarios. The consumption of FPC for a single vehicle is expected to exceed 100 pieces.
